It's 3 in the morning. Still very much awake. Not cos I not tired, but still got piles of work to clear. But also cos I drank coffee and mocha frizz this morn... Double effect... For those who know me well, can understand why I still awake now?
Hee... Was just sitting at the computer and thinking about my life. And what the future holds. There are lots of people in this world, especially in such a densely populated country like Singapore. Many people hold on to various beliefs. But many religions are also backward looking. They talk about your past, your life now and the result of it, ur future. This is so mind-trapping! Why do I say so? This was how my parents brought me up as well.
Since young, they've been telling me to work hard, then you can earn lots of money, and you dun have to be leading the kind of lives that we're living now. Days where you just try to make ends meet...
After I got saved and over the years, God has been showing me things. We always hear Pst preach about prospering in life, living life to the maximum, relasing your potential. About faith and the future. Now I begin to understand things.
True that what we do will determine our future. BUT we can determine and choose what we want to do now. I'm very blessed to be borned into my family. My parents allow me to do the things that I like. Sometimes they do not agree, but they allow me to make that decision and see where it leads to. (not illegal acts I'm talking about here). This is my life! I decide and am responsible for it. And so over the 23 years of my life, I realised that if I want my future to be successful, I must begin to do things now that will enable that to happen. And not let it happen and see what options I am left with... Think this is very theory, let me put it into an analogy for you that's easier to understand.
'A' levels...
That was 4 yrs back (omg! Oh time flies)... Hahaha.... Ya, A levels...
I got saved in 2000, in JC 1 during easter. And Bro Khen Theen was my CGL for a while then Bro Edwin... Bro Edwin began to teach me to plan for my future. (Thanks, Bro Edwin for all the guidance and help in school work...) I've always like figures, (since way back in Pri sch and even kindergarten. You can ask my pri sch tutor, Roslan, I still keep in touch with him... He's great!) And I began to have the desire to go into accountancy course in Uni. And I found out the grades I need to get into that course. Thus in JC, I began to study and work towards that goal.
At the same time, many people around me were still so lost. Ask them what course they wanna do in Uni, they'll be 'hmmmmmm... I see my results lo, if gd. Then see if I can get into XXX course. If not, I will get into ZZZ course. Cos think it's easy to get in.' No wonder these ppl will end up in the course they dun like. That's why I always tell my beloved cell members to plan for their future now. You need to decide what results you want and work towards it. So the results you want will determine what kind of actions you need to do.
Oh ya, for those who dunno me, I've graduated from Uni. And yes, from accountancy. See? So you need to plan wat kind of future you want and work towards them now!
So similarly, what career you want in future? You got to start planning now!!! Dun ever think you're too young. Time really starts flying when you hit 20. No joke... You got to really sit down and plan with God. Ask God to show you the maximum kind of life you can live. Come on! You've got only one life, if you dun maximise it now, then when will you start doing it? When you're retired and have no more energy? Why dun you commit your life to ur Creator now? He has a wonderful plan for your life. It's just whether you're willing to live it out... The choice is yours... :o)
